Getting There for Musicians: Social Media Management for Musicians: Simplified

Social Media Management for Musicians: Simplified

Print this out, put it on your desk or in a place you will see it to make sure you are getting the right things done during the day, every day.

Review, take notes, and measure results constantly

Set aside the time slots for everyday. Have a list of what you're going to do and what needs to be done by the end of the time. Make sure the time slots are in 30 and 60 minute lengths. Always be in the office or in the studio with the computer and all materials ready to go. Don't do any thing else for even one minute…don't open YouTube or any social media.

Don't just go online first thing each day. Spend the first 30 minutes going over plans and figuring out what to do that day. Mark all ideas and notes in your preferred note taking app and make temporary notes.

Create a system for all processes. Social media posting, social media creations (videos, graphics), music production, marketing, and administration.

Don't over-think on projects. Create quickly, check for errors and over all quality the next day. Make any corrections and then post the next day.

For social media, set a time in the morning and go through all sites. Make sure to have a list of all of the different sites and details. Don't over think about what to post. Get ideas from daily notes and your favorite AI.

Make a priority list of tracks and sites to post to and make sure those are getting done. They have to be the first thing done and updated every day.

Do the research on new tracks and tracks for YouTube channels. Get all reference materials (pdf's, reference tracks, music notes) ready before starting. Create a master track that all others will follow. Create quick tracks using the same template, materials and basic theory and harmony.

No YouTube/Insta/TikTok or mindless surfing until the end of day

Go on social media to track trends.

Make notes on progress, goals and problems. Update and review on Sunday night.

Do this everyday. Don't over-think. Review, take notes, and measure results constantly.

Have fun.
